For the past few weeks or so, I’ve been busy building websites and writing articles. If you don’t already know, writing articles is one of the easiest ways to get free traffic to your website. You can view one of my featured articles by Clicking Here.

You probably want to know how writing articles can help me. Well, it’s really simple. The article I submitted is on EzineArticles.com which has one of the highest page ranks of all articles directories. If you read my article, you’ll notice that all the way down at the bottom, I have a link pointing people back to the site you’re at right now, Sean-Grimes.com

Did the light bulb just come on now? This is how people use articles to get people to their websites. By getting your links on high ranking websites, you’ll increase the page rank to your site. Just be sure to add good and relevant content to your site.

This is why I stress that EVERY online marketer should get a website of their own. Think of your domain and website as a piece of internet real estate.

If you’ve noticed, over the past week or so, I’ve added many new free reports to this site which you’ll see over to your right. Each of those are individual websites. I wrote articles for each of those sites as well.

Now here is a REALLY good tip. If you choose a hidden niche that no one knows about, you could dominate a certain keyword phrase and make a lot of money if you play your cards right. It’s real simple. Find a niche. Build a website about that niche. Write articles pointing people back to your niche site. That’s it. If your article and website are very professional, you’ll be seen as an expert and people will be more likely to trust you more.

This is why I encourage everyone on my list to get a domain name, set up a hosting account and get to work. It’s not that hard and you can actually join systems where the websites are already setup for you along with articles, reports and other materials. Hint, Hint!! UMC

I’ve been with UMC for over 3 years now and it’s the only reason I even have a business online. It’s the nuts and bolts of everything I do.

The people who make the most money online have their own list and websites. It’s really that simple. The people who just join opportunity after opportunity will always have a more difficult time trying to make any money online.

Back in 2006, I never thought I’d have multiple websites and a mailing list of my own. The reason I have these things is because I was willing to learn and to be honest, my main help came from doing Google searches.

For a few years now, I’ve learned that one of the BIGGEST problems that people face when it comes to online marketing is that they are not using a good email address.

Let’s face it. If you’re going to be building a business online, you’ll be doing a lot of communicating online so having a good email address is VERY important.

The days are long gone when you could simply get your hands on an email list, send out 100′s of 1000′s of emails knowing that every email would be received. That was back before SPAM was invented and I’m not talking about that meat in the can stuff!

Below, you’ll find just a SHORT list I’ve compiled that has many email providers I do not recommend if you want to do business online. A few of them are:
aol.com
charter.net
comcast.net
yahoo.co.uk
hotmail.com
quicksilver.net.nz
rogers.com
telkomsa.net
boxbe.com
verizon.net

I know I said the list would have only a few, but trust me, there are literally 100′s if not maybe even 1000′s of email providers you don’t want to use if you have an online business. I’ve dealt with hotmail, aol, charter and yahoo and I’ve had problems with all of those. Don’t worry because you eliminate having to search for an email provider by simply getting a Gmail account.

Once I got a Gmail account, my email delivery problems all went away. If people are not getting my emails, I can almost be certain that the problem is not on my end.

So in a nutshell, do yourself a favor if you’re trying to market online. Get a Gmail account if you don’t have one. Save yourself a bunch of confusion. I’d hate for you to join something by becoming a paid member and then missing out on an important email. Save yourself any unnecessary headaches by getting a Gmail account.

I just implemented a cool little trick on one of my websites that I learned from Joey Kissimmee.

It works like this. A person comes to your website. They see what appears to be a video box. They click on the image and they get a popup telling them to fill out your form first. You can see this better on one of the sites I’m using it on by going to my Make Money Online Site.

This is a free script that you put right on your website in no time.

Welcome back.

Today, I want to talk about something that’s really troubling to me.

If you’re like me, I’m sure your email inbox is loaded of emails with people claiming how some affiliate program or MLM program has helped 1000′s of people. Has it ever occurred to you that most of these emails only CLAIM how these programs have helped OTHER people and never the person who is sending the email?

I got an email a while back with the subject “30k affiliates can’t be wrong“. The email then went on to say:

“These guys have trained over 30,000 affiliates, and now they’re revealing the secret software
that’s made them $143,045 a month – with zero setup cost, and free traffic:”

If you notice, no where does the sender of this email show how this system has helped him or how it has helped him earn money. I see this happen time and again. It’s very possible that the person who sent this email out hasn’t earned one single penny from it! The other problem is that I had no clue who the sender of this email even was! This is a very BAD practice. By any means, when you’re growing your list, make sure that the people who you email know who you are.

Now, I know I’m not earning SUPER BIG money, but I do quite well. I’m actually very ok with what I earn. The money I earn from my business has helped me pay off credit cards, go on family trips and purchase other things that I normally wouldn’t be able to. You see, I’m at the point that I can email people about my OWN success stories because I have the proof to back up what I do now. This is where you want to be and I can show you how to do this.

If you ever make a sale from anything you promote, get that message out to your list. Let them know that you just eared another $97 if that’s what you made. People don’t want to hear how a system has helped Mary or Joe Blow because the people on your list have no clue who those people are. They do know you though and if they see that YOU’RE making money, chances are they will want to take advice from you.

Welcome back.

Today, I want to share my marketing funnel strategy with you and why it’s important to use one.

You saw the entry door to my marketing funnel when you opted into my mailing list by filling out the form. In the near future, I will be doing a video that will show you how to create your OWN marketing funnel and even how to upload/edit your own website.

My marketing funnel works like this. I create a lead capture page like this:

When people fill out that form, they end up on my personal list. My autoresponder then sends those people a series of automated emails that follows up for me 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. I put just a little work into this, but….

THE FREE AND POWERFUL SYSTEM DOES ALL OF THIS FOR YOU!!

If you don’t remember, I use the Free And Powerful system as a secondary method of building my primary business and you can use it as well if you’re already promoting something else.

All members who use the Free And Powerful system will get a system that generates leads for them and also follows up with them. This is great because most people don’t know how to set up their own marketing funnels. As you advertise your Free And Powerful system(if you set one up yet), you will generate leads. The system will then send emails to those lead on YOUR behalf. This is great because I still make sales from people who requested information about Free And Powerful back in 2009 when I joined! The automated messages sent out by the Free And Powerful system is responsible for that.

The Free And Powerful system also has an option that will give you MORE control of your leads. If you decide to use it, you can use your very own lead capture page that is linked to your own TrafficWave autoresponder that you could manage. It’s not necessary, but it does help a lot. Just know that my early success all came from simply advertising the basic Free And Powerful system pages and letting the system do the rest. That’s what I love the most about Free And Powerful. You don’t have to be a marketing guru to use it. You can keep it simple and still do well.

Like I said, I’ll be doing a video that will show you how to create a simple marketing funnel. Once you have a marketing funnel in place, you can promote ANYTHING you want while your auto-responder does the rest.

Learn About The Free And Powerful System!

So you basically have a couple of options. You can:
1. Advertise your opportunities page. I only recommend this if your opportunity follows up with your leads for you. In most cases, your opportunity will not do this for you.
2. Join a system like Free And Powerful. Use their pages which will generate leads for you, follow up with them, allow to earn from different avenues and also expose your primary opportunity. I recommend this if you are a novice or intermediate marketer.
3. Create your own marketing funnel which allows you to be in more control of your own list.

I prefer #3 out of all of the above, but #2 will allow you have just as much success as well. Like I said, when I joined the Free And Powerful system back in 2009, I used nothing more than their generic lead capture pages and I earned $1000′s!

This is some REALLY important information if you have a website or blog and want to get your site rankings up really high. Getting your site ranked high will help you get a lot of free traffic from the search engines.

Basically, all you have to do is follow what the big boys do. In my example, I will use Jonathan Budd who is a very well known and established marketer. The first thing you want to do is head over to Google and type in his name for a search. You want to find any website such as a blog that is set up for Jonathan. It’s a VERY common practice for marketers to use their names as the domain name for their websites and blogs. If you do a search on him, you should find http://jonathanbudd.com/. You now want to head over to Alexa. Once you get there, just do a search on “http://jonathanbudd.com/”. At the time of this post, I found Jonathans site to have the following information:

Alexa Traffic Rank: 29,439, Traffic Rank in US: 10,313, Sites Linking In: 37

Ok. You can see that his page rank is really high so he’s getting all kinds of traffic to his site. I’m sure you’d like to know how he’s getting this traffic. Well, he has 37 sites linking back to his site in this example. 37 really is not a lot of sites, but these are more than likely sites that have high pages ranks as well and I’m sure he has good content with a ton of subscribers who put their links on his site. If you click on the 37, you’ll see the sites that are linking back to his site! You now probably want to know how he’s getting his links on these sites. Well, it’s really quite simple. Either he’s writing articles or he has someone doing it for him. This is a common practice used by many marketers. I do ok from search engine traffic and have made money this way too.

In a nutshell, all you have to do is:
1. Start your own blog. Get your own using your own domain name!!!
2. Put a lot of relevant content on your site. Provide information. Not stuff like, “join my business”.
3. Write articles making sure to link back to your home page from these articles.

That’s it. Many people will charge you an arm and a leg for this information, but it’s really that easy. Also, don’t think for a second that people are manually submitting articles to 1000′s of article directories. They get software to do this for them.

I’ve been writing articles since I’ve learned about them back in 2006. Some people have mastered this concept and focus only on this method to get traffic. There is a TON of other information on this subject all over the internet.

Just a quick post for today.

If you ever come across any “push button email” services, please avoid them. These are services that allow you to send out emails to any list. The list could be your personal list or it could be your a purchased list. In some cases they are even products that you can buy and host with your own web hosting provider. These services are ONLY good if you’re emailing people who already know you.

The reason these are bad is because most people will use these types of services to spam people. If you’re spamming people, you’re going to have bad results. The people who receive email from you should recognize who you are when they see your name in their inbox.

The key is to build your own list which REALLY isn’t that hard. All you have to do is create a basic lead capture page(or have someone create one for you) and advertise that page on the internet. I have many good places that allow me to generate leads over in my advertising solution section to the right.

Another option is to simply email people who already know you. This can be accomplished by sending emails to your contacts with your favorite email program. I use THIS sevice that allows me to do this easily.

Whatever the case may be, just make sure that the people who you send email to know who you are. If you’re using bad practices to email people, your email address can get blacklisted and you’ll have to start over with a new email address.
