Wordpress Blog Pinging Itself
by Sean Grimes on June 28, 2009

I had a annoyance where my wordpress blog would ping itself whenever I made a new post that linked back to another post. Some bloggers like this feature, but I don’t since it clutters up my comments.
I simply downloaded a little plugin to prevent this from happening.

Using Trackback and Linkbacks: Blogging Tips
by Sean Grimes on September 28, 2008
in Wordpress
Using trackbacks and pingbacks are an excellent way to build links and traffic to your blog, as well as building relationships with other bloggers.
This feature has been around for quite some time, but many people still may not know too much about it. I’ll briefly discuss using pingbacks. If you find a blog with useful information and then go to your blog and make a post linking to the blog which helped you, your comment will automatically placed on the website with a link pointing back to your site. It’s a really neat concept, but has been abused by many.
